Surfaced (“we,” “us,” or “our”) helps job seekers understand which roles are worth applying to and tailor their applications. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Surfaced you agree to the practices described here.
We collect the information you provide directly to us, including your email address, your resume or CV, and the job descriptions you submit for scoring. When you create an account we also store your password (hashed) and your saved scores, tailored resumes, and cover letters. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment details are processed by our payment provider; we do not store your full card number.
We automatically collect limited technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and usage activity to operate the service, prevent abuse, and improve Surfaced.
We use your information to provide and improve the service, including scoring jobs against your CV, tailoring your resume and cover letters, sending magic-link sign-in and account emails, processing payments, enforcing rate limits and detecting abuse, and communicating with you about your account. We do not sell your personal information.
To score and tailor your applications, the contents of your resume and the job descriptions you submit are processed by automated systems, which may include third-party AI providers. We share only the data necessary to perform these tasks and do not use your resume content to train third-party models without your consent.
We rely on trusted third parties to operate Surfaced, including email delivery, payment processing, hosting, and AI processing. These providers may process your data on our behalf and are bound by obligations to protect it.
We retain your account information and saved content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete your account at any time, after which we will delete or anonymize your personal data, except where we are required to retain it for legal or legitimate business reasons.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage much of your data from your account settings, or contact us to exercise these rights.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
